How to Install and Run Call of Duty: Mobile on Any Android Phone

Activision’s been keeping the gaming community in suspense ever since they announced they’d be releasing Call of Duty: Mobile.

For those unaware, Call of Duty (CoD) is a legendary first-person shooter franchise that took the world by storm. In 2018, Call of Duty: Black Ops III had 54.7 million players, whereas other games in the franchise have attracted millions more. While the game has not been officially released yet, Call of Duty: Mobile is hitting the headlines already. Let’s see what the hype is all about, and how gamers can download and play the game before the official release.

What’s All the Buzz About

Just 2 months after Activision made their announcement, a closed beta of Call of Duty: Mobile became available to Android users in India. So far, it looks very promising, and the game is a mash-up of a few of the previous games in the franchise.

Of course, multiplayer is the foundation of the game, and players will be able to team up and play Call of Duty: Mobile in some of their favorite modes and maps. Although it’s a standalone game, players will notice familiar maps and characters from both

CoD: Modern Warfare and the CoD: Black Ops series, and Call of Duty: Mobile Battle Royale is available as well.

The Battle Royale mode features single, two-person, and four-person playlists. Before the match begins, players can choose whether they want to play in first or third-person perspective. The closed beta is currently available only to players in India with Android devices, but it will be gradually rolled out to players in other countries, and it will become available on iPhones as well.

Once the game is officially released, it'll be free to download, and players will be able to access it both on the Google Play Store and on Apple’s App Store.

Install Call of Duty: Mobile on Android in a Few Easy Steps Over the next few months, the developers will be fine-tuning the game and releasing pre-launch betas, slowly making it available to a greater number of players. Currently, players in India should either create a new Call of Duty account or sign into their existing one to pre-register for the game. Since the game’s in closed beta, no one is able to download it without pre-registering, and it’s advised for gamers in countries outside of India to pre-register as well to be able to access the game once it’s released in their country.

After pre-registering, gamers will be notified when they’ll be able to download the game.

Installing CoD: Mobile Without the Wait

Anxious gamers who haven’t received access to the game from the Google Play Store can still manage to play the closed beta, as there are only a few things to be done.

First, players can download Call of Duty: Mobile from APK Mirror.

Now, gamers should unzip the files and extract the folder to “Android/obb” through a file manager.

The last step is installing Call of Duty: Mobile downloaded from APK Mirror. Players can choose to play as a guest or use their Facebook account to log in.

What Can Anxious Gamers Outside India Do?

Since the closed beta isn't live in any other country except for India, there’s only one thing gamers from outside can do – use a VPN, more about it on nordvpn.com/what-is-my-ip.

Typically, a VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is used for improving one’s cybersecurity, but it’s also excellent for bypassing any type of internet censorship or geographic restrictions to online content.

It works by hiding a user’s IP address and providing them with a different one.

Some may wonder what an IP address is. In short, an IP, or Internet Protocol address, serves as identification for a device that’s connected to the internet.

Basically, IP is a network address that lets the internet know where to send request results. If you want to find out your current IP address, simply type into Google search “what is my IP address” and you’ll see the answer provided in a string of numbers.

Based on the IP, the device location can easily be found on the internet, and in the real world. Through a VPN server, gamers can make it look like their device is located in India, and this will give them access to the CoD: Mobile closed beta.

Gamers who’d prefer to wait for the official release should stay tuned with Call of Duty: Mobile and check for any updates.
